About
The One Body Project is an ongoing body of participatory artistic work exploring empathy, presence, and human interconnectedness through performance installations, poetic ritual spaces, film, literary works, and immersive public gatherings. Rooted in contemporary interdisciplinary arts practice, the project creates experiential environments in which audiences are invited into direct artistic participation, reflection, and shared inquiry.
The artist’s work to date includes published poetry collections that engage readers in contemplative relationships with thought and perception, as well as live spoken-word and theatrical performances that combine storytelling, humor, and meditative practice. Current and upcoming projects include the development of a contemplative interactive installation designed to immerse audiences in artistic environments that foster dialogue, imagination, and perspective-taking, as well as a solo theatrical performance integrating poetry and audience engagement.
These works are presented in cultural venues, galleries, community spaces, retreat settings, and festival contexts, and are supported by workshops and collaborative artistic gatherings. Future activities will focus on expanding interdisciplinary performance productions, deepening collaborative artistic exchange across communities, and creating new media-based works that extend participatory artistic experiences to broader publics.
Public Benefit
The One Body Project serves members of the general public who participate in performances, exhibitions, workshops, and community-based artistic programs. Audiences include individuals from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds, as well as participants in educational, artistic, and civic contexts.
The project presents publicly accessible artistic events in cultural venues, galleries, community spaces, retreat environments, and festival settings. Through participatory artistic experiences that encourage reflection, dialogue, and creative engagement, the work contributes to cultural enrichment, interpersonal understanding, and expanded access to interdisciplinary arts practices.
Qualifications
Alice Frank is a poet, performance artist, and actor whose work explores human interconnectedness through participatory artistic experiences. She is the author of the poetry collections My Real Name Is You and F.O.A. - Full On Arrival, with a third manuscript forthcoming.
Her artistic background includes work in theatre, television, and spoken-word performance, as well as the creation of immersive installations, solo theatrical shows, workshops, and interdisciplinary public programs. Over the past two decades she has developed and presented artistic experiences in cultural venues, retreat environments, and community contexts in North America and internationally.
Drawing from contemporary performance practice, storytelling, and contemplative traditions, she continues to create new participatory works that invite audiences into direct creative engagement and shared inquiry.
